Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University is committed to admitting students whose academic records indicate a high potential for success. The university, consistent with its mission, is dedicated to providing higher education access and opportunity. We recognize that some students have potential for success not clearly evident through test scores alone.
Therefore, to be fully accepted into Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, one must have a Composite Predictive Index (CPI) score of 18 or higher. The CPI score is a combination of the high school grade point average (GPA) and ACT/SAT scores. The GPA however, cannot be lower than a 2.0.
All applicants for admission are required to have a cumulative un-weighted grade point average (GPA) of a 2.0 and an American College Test (ACT) score of at least a 18 or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score of at least a 940.
Alabama State University
Undergraduate Admissions Requirements
Alabama State University uses a sliding scale to consider applicants for admission. In regards to SAT scores, we only evaluate the critical reading and math scores. Generally, applicants with higher GPAs and ACT test scores may be accepted with lower ACT/SAT scores, while applicants with lower GPAs may be accepted with higher ACT/SAT scores.
To be considered for admission, you must earn a diploma from an accredited high school and meet the following criteria according to the sliding scale:Deadlines Your application, transcript, and ACT/SAT scores must be received by the Office of Admissions & Recruitment no later than May 10 for Summer Semester and July 30 for Fall Semester.

Alcorn State University
Undergraduate Admissions Requirements
There are five ways to gain Freshman Undergraduate admission to Alcorn State University:
1) Complete the College Prep Curriculum as listed below with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
2) Complete the College Prep Curriculum with a minimum 2.5 GPA and score at least 16 or higher on the ACT (at least 770 reading + math on the SAT) or rank in the upper 50% of your class and score at least 16 or higher on the ACT (at least a 770 reading + math on the SAT).
3) Complete the College Prep Curriculum with a minimum 2.0 GPA and score 18 or higher on the ACT (at least 860 reading + math on the SAT).
4) Students who meet full-qualifier certification requirements for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Freshman Students
Bethune-Cookman University seeks to enroll students with the potential and desire to further their intellectual, spiritual and social development. Each applicant is evaluated individually based on their academic performance at the high school level. The University also considers the applicant’s character and demonstrated interest in obtaining a college education.
Definition of a First-Time Freshman
A student is considered a first-time freshman if he/she is currently in high school or has not previously attended any college, university and/or proprietary school within or outside of the United States since graduating from high school or secondary school.
Disclosure Statement: The student must disclose all institutions attended. Failure to disclose all institutions previously attended will constitute falsification of information and will result in denial of the student’s application
To be considered for admission to Bethune-Cookman University, the student must have satisfactorily completed an accredited high school curriculum. The University uses a holistic admissions process and takes into consideration averages of the incoming class’ ACT or SAT scores and GPA.
Coursework at the high-school level should include the following, each with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0:
Four units of English
Three units of college preparatory math
Three units of natural sciences (at least one laboratory)
Three units of social sciences and history
Six academic electives
Bowie State University
Undergraduate Admissions Requirements
Admission to Bowie State University is granted to all applicants who meet the University’s admission standards. For first-time students-those who are graduating high school seniors or who have earned a General Education Diploma- the admission process evaluates grade point average, SAT/ACT scores, and counselor recommendations.
To be considered for admission, an application and all required documents must be submitted by the following deadlines:
Fall Semester – February 15; International Students – January 5
Spring Semester – November 1; International Students – September 1
Priority consideration is given to applications received before the application deadlines.
Central State University
Undergraduate Admissions Requirements
Direct from High School:
Students with a 2.5 GPA and above, regardless of test score will receive full admission to Central State University.
Students between a 2.2 and 2.49 GPA will be required to submit two recommendation form
Students who GPA fall below a 2.2 GPA, will be required to submit their non-cog essay, recommendation form to be reviewed by The Office of Admissions.
Student with a GED will be reviewed for a passing score. Score varies per state.
